What Is the Change Log?
The Change Log is a running history of every change made to your Google Business Profile. Whenever something is updated — whether by you, a team member, an admin, or even Google itself — it gets recorded here automatically.
For each change, you'll see exactly what the information looked like before and what it looks like after, along with the date and time it happened.
💡 Why does this matter? Google Business Profiles can be edited by multiple people — your team, agency admins, or sometimes even random users suggesting edits on Google. The Change Log lets you catch anything unexpected before it causes a problem.
How to Read the Change Log
Each row in the Change Log represents one field that was changed. Here's what you'll see:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Change | The name of the field that was updated (e.g., Description, Additional Categories, Phone Number) |
| Red line ( − ) | The old value — what was there before the change. Shown in red so it's easy to spot what was removed. |
| Green line ( + ) | The new value — what replaced it. Shown in green so you can see exactly what was added. |
| Date |
The exact date and time the change was recorded in LocalOptics. |
