Best Practices for GeoBooster Moments
What Are GeoBooster Moments?
Moments are short pieces of content created through the GeoBooster app — photos, updates, and job posts that your team creates as they go about their day. They are one of the most effective ways to show potential customers and Google the quality of work you do and where you do it.
Moments also satisfy one of the core requirements of Google's ranking algorithm: publishing relevant, rich content to your website and social channels on a consistent basis. Every Moment your team creates is a fresh signal to Google that your business is active, local, and engaged.
💡 Good to know: Consistency matters more than volume. Publishing small pieces of content regularly is far more effective than occasionally publishing large blocks of text.
How Moments Are Published to Your Website
GeoBooster Moments can be dynamically published to your website pages based on two factors:
| Tag type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Geo tag | Assigns the Moment to a city, state, neighborhood, or area |
| Category tag | Assigns the Moment to a job type or service category |
This means Moments can automatically appear on:
- Category pages — e.g. yourwebsite.com/air-conditioning-repair
- Service area pages — e.g. yourwebsite.com/los-angeles
- Combined pages — e.g. yourwebsite.com/air-conditioning-repair-los-angeles
Every time a team member creates a Moment and tags it correctly, the relevant pages on your website are automatically updated with fresh, location-specific content — no manual uploading or copy-pasting required.
How Long Should a Moment Be?
Keep Moments short. One small paragraph is enough — even one or two sentences works well.
The goal is consistent, small pieces of content published regularly — not large blocks of text dumped onto a page infrequently. Think of each Moment as a quick, genuine update from the field rather than a formal blog post.
✅ Good: 2–4 sentences describing a job, its location, and what was done ❌ Avoid: Long multi-paragraph write-ups, keyword stuffing, or generic filler content
What to Write About
Aim for variety across three dimensions:
1. Service synonyms Use different words to describe the same service across different Moments. For example, instead of always writing "AC repair," mix in "cooling system service," "air conditioning maintenance," and "HVAC tune-up."
2. Geographic keywords Rotate through different types of location references:
- Neighborhood names (Downtown, West Hollywood, Venice Beach)
- Street names when appropriate (Santa Monica Blvd, Sunset Strip)
- City names (Los Angeles, Glendale, Pasadena)
- Zip codes (90022, 91101)
- Colloquial area names (The Valley, South Bay, the Eastside)
3. Job types Cover the full range of services your business offers — installations, repairs, maintenance, inspections, upgrades, retrofits, and cleanups. Each job type paired with a different location creates a unique, indexable piece of content.
💡 Tip: Cycle through your geographic keywords throughout the month so that by the end of the month you've covered a wide variety of the neighborhoods and areas you serve.
